This is an interesting bit of optical illusion that is easy to miss.

Stun Shot

As this cue ball is off the rail, this is a center ball hit, slow speed from 30 degrees, no english.

Looking at our chart we see this is about 40% of maximum throw to ensure the ball pots correctly.

Stun Shot

The light blue ball is an imaginary ball (‘AIM ball’) for determining the amount of throw. The front edge of the AIM ball is 10 inches from the back edge of the object ball. In this instance, we need to adjust the aim of the shot by moving along the radius of the AIM ball 40% of the way from the center to the right edge. Then line up this point to the center of the object ball and this is the new aim line.

Stun Shot

Because you are adjusting your aim up the left long rail, it makes the adjustment look larger. Notice how the new point of aim is one full diamond up the rail.

Aim for the red dot and be sure to shoot a slow, rolling shot with no english off the rail.
