Dr. Dave is author of the innovative book: The
Illustrated Principles of Pool and Billiards (2004), the popular website:
billiards.colostate.edu,
and the educational DVD: High-speed
Video Magic (2007). He is also a monthly instructional columnist for Billiards
Digest (BD) magazine and an active participant on the BD online discussion forum.
Dr. Dave is a devoted pool and billiard enthusiast and an expert in understanding
the physics of pool and billiards. Dr. Dave is also a Distinguished Lecturer
for The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, for which he gives a talk on
the physics of billiards. He also regularly teaches a multi-week pool and billiards
fundamentals course through the City of
Fort Collins Recreator program.
For his "day job," Dr. Dave is a mechanical engineering professor at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. He is a passionate teacher and an experienced textbook author, and he has received many awards for his contributions. His teaching and writing experience has helped him develop skills for presenting and illustrating difficult concepts in a concise and understandable way.
